Shipping, Payment and other Information::

For most trunks and other items, shipping is by FedEx Ground to your preferred address (home or business). The shipping cost is listed with the trunk description and will be added to the price of the trunk when you purchase online with PayPal, unless the item indicates that shipping is already included. PayPal is a secure online payment system which allows you to pay with credit card or transfer from your bank account. I have used this system for several years without any problems myself and have never heard of a problem from any customers. You may also pay by check or money order/cashier's check mailed to me. (personal checks must clear prior to shipping for new customers) If you want to pay by check or money order, please email that you are sending your payment and the trunk you want can be put on "Hold" for you until your payment arrives. When a trunk is shipped to you, we will email you with the FedEx tracking number which can easily be used online at www.fedex.com to check the status of the shipment. We do whatever we can to keep shipping costs low, and the amount listed is normally below other trunk shippers we have seen.

Sometimes a very large trunk would need to be shipped by another means, such as Greyhound Bus Lines, or picked up directly by the customer. I can also arrange to deliver a trunk within the Indiana area or parts of Ohio, or even to the Nashville, TN area or to other areas in the Southeast for a fee to be agreed on with the customer. Please ask about this option if you are interested before buying a trunk. Send your emails to Marvin@ThisOldTrunk.com

Each trunk is carefully packed and padded to avoid any shipping damage. In the case that a trunk is damaged in shipping, then you must keep the original box and all packing contents for inspection by FedEx if they request it. Normally they would require that the trunk be put back in the original box with the padding and returned to This Old Trunk. FedEx would pick up the damaged item in the box from your address. Damage claims will be handled directly with This Old Trunk, not with the purchaser, and your full purchase price including shipping would be refunded to you promptly. Damage from shipping is very rare due to our careful packing.

You have the right to return any item within 30 days of purchase, for a full price credit, good towards any other trunk or items from This Old Trunk, excluding original shipping costs. The return shipping will be your responsibility and the trunk or item should be fully insured and carefully packed. You would need to notify us in advance if an item is to be returned. I try to describe all trunks as completely as possible and show a variety of pictures, but please ask if you have any other questions. I am also happy to supply additional pictures at your request. The trunks are all genuine antique trunks and not reproductions, (except that the Custom made trunks are partially made from new wood, with antique hardware) therefore they will usually have signs of age and normal wear, including small age cracks and dents you would expect with antique trunks. My goal is to have fully satisfied customers, and I do have several customers who have purchased as many as eight trunks from This Old Trunk and give very positive feedback.

If you have any questions about our trunks, parts, or prices you may contact me at: Marvin@thisoldtrunk.com If you have a trunk to sell, please email us with the trunk description, dimensions, and asking price along with a couple good jpeg pictures. It is better to contact me by email rather than by phone, and your request will be answered promptly. Thanks!
