T122 - Small Checkered Doll Trunk with Key

Size: 10" wide, 3 3/4" tall, 5 3/4" deep.

A unique lithographed metal toy or doll trunk with a nice multicolored checkered pattern. The light colored blocks look like pearl or opals in that they have several shades of white, pink, and reddish colors. This flat top doll trunk is in very good original condition and you can see it has a very unusual multicolored finish and brass plated hardware. The lock is marked Eagle Lock Company, Terryville Conn. USA and works well with the original small barrel key. This is from the early 1900's and is made of wood with the metal covering and brass plated metal trim. There is one small worn spot on the bottom and the other sides are in great condition. (see detailed pictures) One leather handle is original and one is replaced with leather in the same style. The interior has original paper covering with some small pieces missing and a wonderful old die-cut lithograph of children playing. Great for display with your special dolls; to hold jewelry, cards, etc.; or just display with your collection! A real collectible doll trunk with a nice vintage look!.
