S100 - Circa 1900 Drug Store Penny Scale

$995.00

Here's your chance to own a wonderful piece of Americana! It's an authentic penny scale that was used at drug stores during the last part of the 1800's to around the 1920's. This one is in excellent working condition and is very beautiful and functional with the full length mirrored front. It has the original metal labels, "Packard Scale Company, Nashua NH" and "Your Weight One Cent". The base is iron with white enameled finish and white and green tiles on the step plate. There are large iron rollers on the base. The body of the scale is solid wood with a walnut finish. The back is all wood with a door that opens to remove the coins and to adjust the scale. The face is very nice with etched numbers and markings and an ornate brass pointer. The scale does work and can be adjusted for accuracy. This item must be picked up or the buyer must make arrangements for shipping. Please email with any questions you may have about this. It's quite a conversation piece. Great for use in your home in many places or as a display in a store. It is 6' 2" tall by 18" wide.
