M100 - Iron Trunk Latches #2 - SOLD 12/2023

A pair of antique trunk latches in the style patented in 1882 and used by many trunk makers. These are marked with the 2 on the top (the size) and measure 4 3/8" tall by 2 1/2" wide (to the edges) when latched together. These were made in sizes 1 through 5, with 1 being the smallest. They have an old black painted finish. See pictures for details of the condition and design. They work well and are complete. These are heavy cast iron. Used on many types of trunks from the 1880's to early 1900's. Install with trunk nails and/or rivets. Very hard to find in good complete condition.
