M129 - Antique Trunk Latches

A pair of antique cast iron trunk latches in a hard to find style patented in 1872. These are marked with "Pat. Jul 9, 72" and measure 3 1/2" tall by 2" wide with both parts latched together. They are clean and can be painted if desired. See pictures for details of the condition. They work well and have the small side lever locking lever pieces. They are cast iron and very strong. Used on trunks from the 1870's to the 1890's. Install with trunk nails or rivets. The small top piece has one nail hole and may need the lower rivet drilled out if you need to replace this piece. Very hard to find!
