M105 - Cast Iron Grape Slat Clamps (5)

$79.95

A set of five (5) rare trunk slat clamps in the 1884 patent grape and vine design. These are very detailed cast malleable iron, heavy and strong with no damage or breaks. Each piece was carefully cleaned and can be used as-is, buffed, or painted. These are as they were removed from a high-quality trunk. They measure 5" long by 2 1/2" wide (to the widest edges). There are five holes for nails on each piece. The round-head trunk nails will look like grapes. These were typically used on the top front of a trunk and had a bent angle to fit barrel-top trunks. They are made of malleable iron so they will bend and can be shaped with the proper light hammering.

These were patented in 1884 by Samuel Hermann of Cincinnati and were used by the Drucker trunk company of Cincinnati on some high-quality trunks. A copy of the clamp patent document will be included. These clamps are tough to find. They would look great across the top front slats of any high-quality trunk!

PLEASE NOTE: These were used on the top front vertical slats. Many trunks had 5 top slats and vertical slats on the front. This is for the 5 clamps shown in the pictures below.

Price: $79.95 for 5 iron slat clamps, including postage ($8) in the continental U.S. only. Email me about the shipping cost to other countries. Thanks
