M118 - Trunk Slat Clamps (10) Rare

$69.95

A set of ten (10) rare Romadka Brothers trunk slat clamps. These are made from cast malleable iron, heavy and strong with no damage or breaks. Each piece was carefully cleaned and clear coated to prevent rusting. They measure 5" long by 2 1/2" wide. These were used on the top slats so they curve a little to go from the front (or back) of the trunk to the top slat ends. The part that would go on the top slats measures 3 1/2" long. See pictures for details. There are three holes for nails on each piece. Install with trunk nails. These can be used as-is, painted, or rebuffed if desired.

These were used only by the Romadka Brothers of Milwaukee on their highest quality trunks, from the 1880's to 1890's. They also had patents on several other trunk hardware items. These clamps are nearly impossible to find.

PLEASE NOTE: These were used only on the top vertical slats that went across the top of the trunk, front to back. Many of their trunks had 5 vertical slats on the front, so there would be 10 clamps. You can also see my sold trunk item T104, which shows a Romadka trunk with similar slat clamps on the top. Email Marvin@ThisOldTrunk if you have any questions!

Price: $69.95 for set of 10 iron slat clamps, includes postage in the continental U.S. only.
