M104 - Romadka Leaf Trunk Slat Clamps (5)

$42.95

A set of five (5) rare Romadka Brothers trunk slat bottom clamps in the 1877 patent leaf design. These are very detailed cast malleable iron, heavy and strong with no damage or breaks. Each piece was carefully cleaned and clear coated to prevent rusting. The top sides of these were not painted but the backs were also cleaned and have a coat of brushed nickel paint. They measure 2 3/4" long (on the long side) and 2 1/2" wide. They curve 90 degrees to go under the bottom of the trunk about 1 1/4". There are three holes for nails on each piece. Install with trunk nails. These can be used as-is, painted, or rebuffed if desired.

These were used only by the Romadka Brothers of Milwaukee on their highest quality trunks, from the 1870's to 1890's. They also had patents on several other trunk hardware items. A copy of the clamp patent document will be included. These clamps are nearly impossible to find.

PLEASE NOTE: These were sometimes used only on the front vertical slats and these were for the bottom of the slats. Many of their trunks had 5 vertical slats on the front. The clamps in item M103 were used on the top of the slats and are sold separately. This is for the 5 clamps shown in the second picture below that expands when clicked. The last picture below show both the top and bottom clamps for reference only. You can also see my sold trunk item T104, which shows a Romadka trunk with these leaf bottom slat clamps on the front. You will receive only the 5 bottom style clamps if you purchase these! No refund on these items for a mistake in ordering! Email Marvin@ThisOldTrunk if you have any questions!

Price: $42.95 for set of 5 iron slat clamps, includes postage in the continental U.S. only.
