T121 - Solid Cedar Slat Captain's Chest!

Here's a truly unique item and another real beauty created by John Head. Using aged cedar, John has crafted this wonderful trunk after the style of Excelsior Patented slat trunks made in the 1870's. Notice the historically accurate detail of this trunk down to the special leather handles and fastening straps on the front. He has used actual antique trunk parts, such as the lock with key, slat clamps, and other hardware to produce the authentic antique look and appeal of this one-of-a-kind trunk. Great for use in so many ways around the house, such as storing those family documents or other family treasures. Plus it's a great decorator's item and will certainly be a conversation piece. It's very strong and just look at all those brass tacks! The interior is also crafted from cedar, designed from the antique trunks of the Victorian period. The lid has a special storage compartment, and the tray is complete with a covered compartment. You won't see anything like this anywhere else and no two of John's fabulous slat trunks are the same!
