T112 - Early Trunk Lock & Key

An early style antique trunk lock of the mid 1800's. The bottom lock plate measures 3" wide and 2 1/4" tall. The top latch piece is 3" high by 1 1 3/8" at the top widest point (The nail holes are 1" apart on the top part). It's a style used on early American trunks from the 1850's through the 1870's. The lock works well with the original uniquely shaped steel barrel key. The lock has an age black finish and can easily be painted if desired. It has the solid brass movable key hole cover (many of these are missing). There is some age pitting on the latch piece but it's still very strong. Very hard to find complete with a key. A rectangular cutout is required in the trunk for this type lock, about 2" by 1 3/4" tall. Easily put on with trunk nails or rivets.

Note: You won't see many items marked "Sold" on my pages because I quickly replace them with more antique trunk hardware items. Check back often for updates.
