T113 - Civil War Stagecoach Trunk - SOLD 06/2017

Size: 26" wide, 14" tall, 15" deep.

This is a leather covered Civil War period stagecoach trunk of the 1860's, also sometimes known as a Jenny Lind style. It would make a great Civil War reenactor trunk since it's in nice original condition and even has the working brass lock. The large barrel key has a fancy heart shape (see picture for details)! It has handles replaced with old leather to add to the authentic look. The leather has hand tooled designs that are visible in some of the pictures. All the brass buttons are present and the original brass tipped wood slats. The leather has all been treated with a high quality conditioner and it has only a few small flaws. The interior has the upper lid compartment and original paper lining. There is no tray but some smaller trunks are more useful without one. The bottom is in great solid condition and the original iron rollers are present. The trunk is very strong and sturdy. I saw a similar trunk in a Civil War exhibit at the Tennessee state museum, which was used by a Civil War general. A wonderful historical piece which has the great period look! Very hard to find, especially at this price.

Price: $185 plus $40 shipping in the United States. Thanks for visiting This Old Trunk!
