T130 - Jenny Lind Doll Trunk with Tray

Size: 13 1/2" Wide, 8" Tall, 8 1/4" front to back.

A little larger than typical Jenny Lind doll trunk of the 1860's to early 1870's. Most that I've seen over the years are 12" or less. This one has been refinished and has brass tacks with four metal bands and the original lock (no key). The leather handles are old and I'm not sure if they're original but look fine. The interior of the lid and the tray have been cleaned and finished while preserving the original lithographed print in the lid. It shows a fancy dressed lady (Jenny Lind?). The original blue and white paper has been left in the bottom, and has some wear and stains but is clean enough to store items. Perfect for display with your fashion dolls or miniature trunk collection; use as a special jewelry box, or for a great conversation display piece! A wonderful collectible piece related to the Swedish singer Jenny Lind. These were made following her extremely popular U.S. tour in 1850 to 1852. The trunk is made of beautiful pine and is strong and well made, heavy for it's size. The bottom is in great condition and has the small metal rollers too! These don't come along too often!
