Size: 33" wide, 23 1/2" tall, 21" deep.

A beautiful Stallman theatrical dresser trunk of the 1900 time period, complete with original wooden drawers, upper compartment, mirror, and working lock. These trunks were specially designed and built to be used by traveling theatre groups, musicians, Vaudeville acts, etc. which were popular in the late 1890's to the 1920's. A very well built, heavy duty trunk which has lots of strong hardware, braces, and latches. The lock is marked Eagle Lock Company and works with the original barrel key. The trunk also has the original label inside the lid which has "Frank A. Stallman, Manufacturer of Stallman's Dresser Trunk, Theatrical and Commercial Work, 31 & 33 W Spring St. Columbus, O.". The Stallman name is also cast into the metal brace on each side. The thick leather handles are original style replacements. The old beveled glass mirror is still in great condition with the dark red trim. The three drawers are all refinished wood with the original metal pulls. There are three small compartments for shoes and other items in the bottom front of the trunk. A special lid compartment folds down and has the original lid with leather snaps. There is also a "secret" compartment area beneath the bottom drawer which is about 4" high and the bottom is fabric lined. The trunk is in excellent restored condition and finished with satin tung oil varnish which is very durable and smooth. A fabulous and unique trunk, wonderful for storage and for use in the home in many ways.
