T116 - Trunk Tin: GLYCEROLE Shoe Dressings, Ca. 1900

$95.00

This is a wonderful old tin made to look like a steamer trunk from the 1890-1910 period. The tin measures 13" x 7" high x 9" deep. It is from the Restorff and Bettmann company in New York, and was to carry and sell their shoe dressings and oils. The inside of the lid has a fabulous full size ad for the shoe dressings, showing the old high top ladies shoes. The exterior of the tin is designed to look like a trunk, with handles, straps, lock, etc, but the top latch for the brass lock is missing (not too noticeable). The tin is in very good condition, but does have some wear (scrapes, scratches, and worn spots). This is a rather rare tin, and an excellent display piece, also a great trunk related collectable! I've never seen another one like it. (The other trunk tins in the last picture are not included, but are also for sale...so you can have a nice grouping of these collectibles to display. Inquire by email.)

Price: $95 plus $8 shipping in the continental US.
