T111 - Early Child's Trunk or Small Ladies Trunk

$350.00

Size: 20" wide, 11 1/2" tall, 12 1/2" front to back.

An unusual little trunk which was probably either a child's trunk or possibly a ladies trunk for small items, cosmetics, etc. I believe it to be from the 1890's to about 1900. It's a very attractive and interesting small trunk, with beautiful oak slats, iron clamps, large rosettes, copper tacks, and working lock with key! This type lock can be closed without it automatically locking and has a small round knob to unlatch it. The small metal handles on each side are original. It has the original wood interior tray which has been refinished and the original chromolithograph picture in the lid, not a reproduction. The picture shows a child in a military style uniform and it has a couple thin age cracks across it but still looks great. The interior has been cleaned and relined with nice blue fabric. The bottom is solid wood with two slats and iron clamps. There are a couple thin age cracks in the wood on top, but they have been glued and the trunk is solid and strong. Wonderful for display, storage of small keepsakes, or use with your doll collection. Please email if you have any questions or would like more pictures emailed to you.

Price: $350 plus $15 shipping in the continental U.S. Please email for rates to other areas.
