T102 - Rare Fashion Doll Trunk

Size: 18" wide, 10 1/2" tall, 9 1/2" deep.

This is a wonderful doll trunk from the early 1900's complete with the wooden tray and key! And what is truly rare about this trunk is the special red mahogany wood grain painted metal, which is in great condition with only minor age spots and small scratches. Look at the close up detail picture to see the wood grain look. It's hard to show how nice the trunk really looks in these pictures. The original lock is marked Eagle Lock Co. Terryville, Conn. and does have the original working key. We don't get doll trunks this nice and complete very often. It has all the original parts, oak wood slats, fancy slat clamps, handle holders, and interior tray. Leather handles have been replaced like the originals. It has been carefully cleaned and given a protective tung oil varnish finish. The refinished wooden tray is original and there is a great victorian picture in the lid of a girl pushing her dolly in a fancy carriage. This is a wonderful display piece which can also be used to store your antique dolls, doll clothes, jewelry, or other special items.
