L122 - Brass Eagle Trunk Lock & Key

An antique solid brass trunk lock with one original marked barrel key! A high-quality lock with a fancy three-hole base. Marked "Eagle Lock Co. Terryville Conn U.S.A.". The lock and key have matching key codes. The lock was specially hand tooled on the surface to give it a swirled appearance which appears to move in the light. See pictures for details of the condition and style. The lock itself is 6 1/4 " tall, 2" wide at the top and 2" wide at the base (edge to edge). The top receiver piece is 3 3/4" wide and 2 5/8" tall. The lock is solid cast brass and the receiver is brass plated steel. Perfect for nice antique trunks! This is well made and heavyweight. It could be highly polished if desired. This style lock was used on high-quality trunks of the 1880's to early 1900's.

Old authentic American made locks look much better on antique trunks than the lightweight reproduction locks made in foreign countries, plus they will increase the value of your trunk. People can spot a cheap reproduction lock easily on an antique trunk.
