L114 - Early Antique Trunk Lock & Key

A small rectangular antique trunk lock in very good used condition! An early handmade lock made of iron with a brass key escutcheon and iron hasp. Comes with the original unique barrel key. The base measures 2 1/4" wide by 2" tall and the top hasp is 2 3/4" tall by 3/4" wide. This lock requires a shallow cutout in the trunk, about 1 1/2" high by 1 1/2" wide for the base. The lock has the old black finish with some wear. See pictures for details of the condition and style. A very old lock from the 1840's to 1860's time period. It is a smaller than usual lock which can be used on early document boxes or small trunks. Very rare and hard to find! Price includes shipping cost in the US.
