L100 - Antique Corbin Trunk Lock & Key - SOLD 09/2021

An antique steel trunk lock, marked "Corbin Cabinet Lock Co. New Britain CT. USA, ST2" with one original marked key. The lock and key are marked with the matching key code. A standard size trunk lock that measures 6" tall and 2 1/4" wide at the base, and the top receiver piece is 3 3/4" wide and 2 1/2" high edge to edge, (a total of 6 1/2" high when locked together) Standard size for most trunks and this is the same as Eagle, Yale, or most locks of this style. The lock is in very good used condition with a brushed steel finish, perfect for antique trunks. It has some of the old brass platings on the backside, see pictures for details. It can be used as-is or painted if desired. This is well made with brass rivets and is a heavier weight than the new reproduction locks. This style lock was used on many trunks of the 1880s to early 1900s. This lock requires a shallow hole in the lid of the trunk about 1 1/2" diameter. Old authentic American made locks look much better on antique trunks than those reproduction locks made in foreign countries, plus they will increase the value of your trunk. Reproduction locks are easy to spot and are very lightweight.

$48 includes shipping in the continental U.S. only.
