L109 - Antique Trunk Hasp Lock & Key - SOLD 02/2020

An unmarked antique trunk lock, in a style first made by Star Lock Works in 1877 and then later by Eagle Lock Company and Corbin. The bottom lock plate measures 3 7/8" wide and 2 1/8" tall. The top latch piece is 3 1/4" high by 2 3/4" wide at the widest point. It's a style used on medium and large size American trunks from the 1880's through the early 1900's. The lock works very well with the old flat star key. It has brass rivets and a brass key escutcheon and locking mechanism. The lock has most of the old black paint and can easily be repainted if desired. Very hard to find complete with a key. A rectangular cutout is required in the trunk for this type lock, about 1 5/8" by 1 7/8" tall. Easily put on with trunk nails, rivets, or split rivets.
