L101 - Antique Trunk Lock with Key

A vintage brass plated steel trunk lock, marked "LONG LOCK T350, Petersburg, VA" with one original marked key! Unused old stock. This lock is unique in that it has the protective backplate for the top and bottom, and with that it measures 6 3/4" tall and 3 1/2" wide when locked together, measured to the edges. The lock is in excellent condition with a slightly aged brass finish, perfect for antique trunks! This is well made with a brass locking mechanism and is much heavier weight than the new reproduction locks of similar style. From Long Mfg. Co. (out of business many years ago) This style lock was used on trunks of the early to mid-1900's. This lock top requires a round hole in the lid of the trunk about 1 1/2" in diameter. Old authentic American made locks look much better on antique trunks than those reproduction locks made in foreign countries, plus they will increase the value of your trunk. (It is very obvious when you put a new reproduction lock on an antique trunk. This is not a reproduction lock.) Very hard to find, only one available.
