L107 - Antique Trunk Lock & Key - SOLD 08/2019

An unmarked antique trunk lock, in a style made by Eagle Lock Company, Corbin, and Star Lock Works. The bottom lock plate measures 3 1/4" wide and 2 1.2" tall. The top latch piece is 2 7/8" high by 2 3/8" wide at the widest point. It's a style used on small and medium size American trunks from the 1880's through the early 1900's. The lock works very well with the original flat steel key. It has brass rivets and a brass key escutcheon and locking mechanism. The lock is unpainted and can be easily painted if desired. Very hard to find in this size and condition. A rectangular cutout is required in the trunk for this type lock, about 1 1/4" by 1 1/2". Easily put on with trunk nails, rivets, or split rivets.
