L112 - Antique Trunk Lock with Key - SOLD 06/2018

An antique hasp style trunk lock with original barrel key. The bottom lock plate measures 4" wide and 3" tall. The top hasp piece is 3" high by about 2 3/4" wide at the widest point. It's a style used on many American trunks from the 1870's through the early 1900's. The lock works very well and has the uniquely shaped steel barrel key. It has some of the original tinned finish with brass and copper rivets. This has a keyhole escutcheon shaped like a keystone, so the lock was probably made in Pennsylvania, possibly by Star Lock Works of Philadelphia. It's the first one I've had with the keystone piece. The lock is unmarked. Very hard to find. A rectangular cutout is required in the trunk for this type lock, about 1 3/4" by 2 1/4". Email Marvin@ThisOldTrunk.com if you have questions.
