L124 - Brass & Bronze Excelsior Lock & Keys

An unusual antique brass and bronze trunk lock, marked "Excelsior Stamford Conn. USA" with two original Excelsior marked keys! I've never had another lock of this type! The lock and keys are also marked with the matching key code. The trunk lock measures 5" tall and 2 1/8" wide when attached as in the last picture. The receiver piece is 2 7/8" wide and 2 1/2" high and is marked "Pat Ap For" for Patent Applied For. The lock is in excellent unused condition! This is well made with brass rivets and brass locking mechanism and is much heavier weight than the new reproduction locks. This lock would be mounted with the smaller top piece folded down so it would be covered by the lock as in the last picture. This would require a hole about 1 1/2" diameter for the round locking piece to fit into. Great for old or new trunks and chests.
