L110 - Iron & Brass Lock, Fancy Key - SOLD 06/2017

An early style trunk lock made of iron, steel, and with an marked brass keyhole cover. The bottom lock plate measures 3" wide and 2 1/2" tall. The top hasp piece is 3 1/4" long by about 1 1/4" wide at the widest point. It's a style used on early American trunks from the 1850's through the 1870's. The lock works very well and has the original fancy barrel key. The brass moving keyhole cover is stamped with an eagle and the name " Wm McA__ & Co".(can't quite make out all the letters) It has some of the original black japanned finish. Very hard to find. A rectangular cutout is required in the trunk for this type lock, about 1 1/2" by 1 1/2 high". Email Marvin@ThisOldTrunk.com if you have questions.
