L122 - Ornate Brass Lock, 2 Keys

A beautiful ornate solid brass trunk lock with two nickel plated keys. This antique lock is in excellent unused condition and is a style often found on European trunks of the late 1800's to early 1900's, but were used on some American made trunks also. This one is not marked except for the number "3", which is the key code also found on the keys. It is heavy solid brass and very high quality. It has a slightly aged patina, but could easily be highly polished if desired. The lock base measures 4 3/8" wide and 3 1/2" tall. The top hasp is 3" wide and 4" high and has a dowel which fits into the base plate. The trunk must have a shallow hole cutout for the bottom part, about 2 1/2" wide by 2" tall. A beautiful and rare lock. A great looking lock for antique or new trunks!
