L111 - Star Trunk Lock, Iron & Brass - SOLD 05/2017

A brass rectangular trunk lock with steel hasp and original Star key. The bottom lock plate measures 3 5/8" wide and 2 3/4" tall. The top latch piece is 3 1/4" high by 2 3/4" wide at the widest point. It's a style used on many American trunks from the late 1870's through the early 1900's. This one is marked with the Star emblem and "Pat'd Mar.'69 & Apr.'77". The lock works very well and has the original flat Star cutout key. Most trunk companies had a few models with this type lock. A rectangular cutout about 1 1/2" by 2" is required in the body of the trunk for this type lock, see pictures for details. Only 1 available and hard to find.

I also sell individual Star keys for these locks, see posted key listing M120.

Price: $65 includes postage in the U.S. Thanks for visiting This Old Trunk.
