L118 - Brass French Trunk Lock & Key

This old trunk lock is in good working condition and is a style typically found on French trunks of the late 1800's to early 1900s. This one is not marked except for the number "6" under the key hole. It is heavy solid brass which appears to have been nickel plated, but is now mostly brass colored. The lock base measures 4 1/2" wide and 3" tall. The top hasp is 3" wide and 3 3/4" high and has a spring which lifts it when unlocked. It is heavy duty and works well with the key provided. It has some surface plating wear including a couple small dings. The trunk must have a hole cutout in the bottom part, about 2 1/2" wide by 2" tall, for this style lock. Very hard to find and only one available. Great looking lock for antique or new trunks!
