L117 - Antique Excelsior Trunk Lock & Key

A vintage brass plated steel trunk lock, marked "Excelsior Stamford Conn. USA" with one original marked key! Unused (Like new) old stock! The lock and key are marked with the matching key code. A standard size trunk lock that measures 6" tall and 2 1/4" wide at the base, and the top receiver piece is 3 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" high. (a total of 6 1/2" high when locked together) Standard size for most trunks and this is the same as Eagle, Corbin, or Yale locks of this style. The lock is in excellent unused condition with a brass finish, perfect for antique trunks! This is well made with a brass locking mechanism and is a much heavier weight than the new reproduction locks. This style lock was used on many trunks of the 1890s to early 1900s. This is a surface lock which does not require a hole in the lid. Old authentic American made locks look much better on antique trunks than those reproduction locks made in foreign countries, plus they will increase the value of your trunk. NOTE: you don't see many sold parts or locks on my website because I quickly replace them with other antique items!
