L101 - Antique Brass 1898 Eagle Lock & Key - SOLD 07/2023

$69.00

An antique solid brass Eagle trunk lock with one key! A high quality lock with a fancy three-hole base. Marked "Eagle Lock Co. Pat. July 26, 1898, Terryvillle Conn. U.S.A." The lock was specially hand tooled on the surface to give it a swirled appearance. See pictures for details of the condition and style. The lock itself is 6 1/4 " tall, 2 3/8" wide at the top and 2" wide at the base (edge to edge). The top receiver piece is 3 1/2" wide and 2 35/8" tall. The lock and receiver are solid cast brass and very strong. Perfect for nice antique trunks! This is well made and heavyweight. It could be highly polished if desired but now has a nice patina. This style lock was used on high-quality trunks of the 1890's to early 1900's.

Old authentic American made locks look much better on antique trunks than the lightweight reproduction locks made in foreign countries, plus they will increase the value of your trunk. People can spot a cheap reproduction lock easily on an antique trunk.

Note: you won't see many items marked sold on my website because I quickly replace those with more trunk hardware items or locks. Please check back often for updates. If you don't see what you need you can email me and I will try to help you. Marvin@ThisOldTrunk.com

Price: $69 includes shipping in the U.S. (This lock is heavy so it must be sent by Priority Mail which now costs almost $10). Please email for shipping rates to other countries.
