L102 - Brass Antique Trunk Lock & Key

A beautiful brass antique trunk lock in excellent used condition! A high-quality early American trunk lock. The top hasp, faceplate, key escutcheon, and rivets are made of solid brass. The back lock mechanism is steel. The original barrel key works perfectly. The top hasp piece has the original brass rivets which could be reused or easily removed as desired.

The base measures 4" wide by 3" tall and the top latch is 3 1/4" tall by 2 1/4" wide.

The lock is unmarked but is an American style used mostly from the 1870's to 1890's on high quality trunks. This lock requires a cutout in the trunk about 2 1/4" high by 2" wide. No corrosion or damage. A great lock for many types of antique trunks of the 1870's through the early 1900's. Would also look wonderful on an antique-style chest or other boxes needing a nice lock. Very hard to find! Only one is available.
